Here are some of the ways the Old Saybrook Republican Town Committee can assist you if you’d like to get involved in your community.

Running
for elected office

The Town Committee begins recruiting candidates for local office in the January prior to the election. This process normally continues right up to the Caucus which is held in July. Candidates should plan on attending at least one WRTC meeting to introduce themselves and to request the endorsement of the Town Committee.

Appointment Request

All Republicans interested in serving on a Board or Commission must be endorsed by the Old Saybrook Republican Town Committee. If you would like to serve as an appointed member to one of these boards, please contact usto receive a list of current vacancies. We are also available to answer any questions you may have regarding your potential service.

registering 
to vote

Your participation begins by registering to vote. Whether you are new to Town, registering for the first time, or changing your party preference to Republican we look forward to welcoming you to the GOP.

Exercise 
your right 
to vote

Voting is now more convenient than ever before. Most people still choose to cast their ballots on Election Day. In Old Saybrook all election day voting takes place at the Mulvey Center in the Multi-Purpose Room. Polls are open from 6:00 AM until 8:00 PM. Remember to bring a photo ID even if “everyone in town knows who you are”.

 

If you need a ride to the polls on Election Day or any other assistance, please let us know and we’ll do whatever we can to assist

Absentee 
ballot

If you can’t make it to the Mulvey Center on Election Day, you can still vote by absentee ballot.

  • Before obtaining an absentee ballot, you must first comhich is available in English and in Spanish on the Ct.gov website.

  • Alternatively, Form ED-3 can be obtained in person at the Town Clerk’s Office

  • Once completed, the form maybe returned to the Town Clerk’s office or mailed to her attention at the following address:Town Clerk

ATTEND 
MEETINGS

The Old Saybrook Republican Town Committee meets monthly in the first floor conference room at Town Hall. Meetings begin at 7:00 PM and are open to all registered Republicans.

Your level of involvement depends on your availability, talents and commitment. You will not be overwhelmed! Please email osrtcinfo@gmail.com to find out when the next meeting will take place.
