Karina julius
board of education
Karina Julius is excited to be an incumbent candidate for the Board of Education. She has proudly served on the Board of Education for 5 years.
Karina is an active volunteer in the community, serving as the chair of several committees in her church as well as vice chair of the Republican Town Committee. She has a passion for education for both children and adults—she works as Director of Finance Training & Development at Yale University. Karina’s experience as a leader in higher education brings a valuable perspective to the Board of Education.
Karina and her husband, Scott, have lived in Old Saybrook for 22 years, and she is a proud mom to two college-age boys, each of whom is an active community volunteer. Andrew volunteers as a firefighter in town and Matthew has supported several successful state and municipal campaigns. In addition to traveling, her interests include running, swimming, biking and practicing yoga.
She and Scott can often be seen around town walking (or being walked by!) their two French bulldogs, Louis and Pepper.
