selectman

Scott has actively participated in the town of Old Saybrook since moving here in 1993.  He served eight years as a Parks & Recreation Commissioner and is seeking his seventh term on the Board of Selectmen.  He is proud of all that has been accomplished in town over many years.  The small-town charm and quality of life makes Old Saybrook one of the most desirable hometowns anywhere.

He and his wife Joanne raised their three children in Old Saybrook, remarking, “The Old Saybrook Schools instilled in our children a desire to learn, grow and develop from each and every experience as they embrace the challenges they’ll meet.”

Scott spent more than 33 years in Public Education where he taught in the US and Spain.  After teaching Spanish for 14 years, Scott’s final 16 years were as principal at Portland Middle School -a 2014 National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence.

In his free time, Scott walks his dogs daily, officiates high school soccer and baseball, and cares for Nina – his first Grandbaby!

Scott looks forward to a continued partnership with Carl Fortuna and the Republican team of elected officials.  The record of accomplishment is many, varied, and paid for!
