Alejandro (Alex) Bertran is seeking a position on the Old Saybrook Parks & Rec Commission (OSPRC).  He is an Industrial Engineer for General Dynamics Electric Boat. 

 

Alex was born and raised in Miami but his career brought him north.  He and his wife Maria moved to Old Saybrook two years ago with the express purpose of becoming part of our small-town community.  Alex believes it’s important to show his children that you have to take personal responsibility to improve your circumstances while helping others who might struggle to help themselves.

Alex is a man of faith, conviction and purpose.  Over the last 24 years, he has traveled on Mission Trips to some of the most impoverished areas of the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Mexico and various sites within the US.  He has seen firsthand what we so easily take for granted here in the US like clean running water, toothpaste, access to a local hospital, etc.

 

We're delighted that Alex has come forward to become a candidate for the Old Saybrook Parks & Rec Commission!  We know he'll bring his passion and dedication to serve Old Saybrook well.
