Planning commission

Doug has been a valued member of our Planning Commission since 2015 and is seeking another term this fall.  With 45 years of engineering and operations experience under his belt, Doug currently serves as Director of Electric System Operations at Eversource.  Prior to his current role, Doug was designated the Eversource Director of Emergency Preparedness for 6 years which afforded him the opportunity to work with town and state officials on storm response protocols.

 

As well as his work on Planning, Doug serves on the RiverCOG Regional Planning Committee; the Westbrook, Old Saybrook, Fenwick and Clinton Executive Sea Level Rise Committee; and multiple church boards and committees.

 

As he approaches another term, Doug’s objectives are to continue to gather and incorporate stakeholder input in order to successfully navigate Old Saybrook through the present and lay groundwork for the future, while preserving what we have inherited.

 

One day Doug intends to fully travel the UK including the North Coast 500 – a route of just over 500 miles through Scotland!
