Board of Education

Jim has capably served the Old Saybrook community as a member of our Board of Education (BOE) since 2013.  He is currently an Engineering Manager at Electric Boat and has supported the U.S. Navy in sonar system design, analysis, and sea trials since graduating college.

 

Jim has lived in Old Saybrook for over 30 years and has had two children educated in the system, giving him the perspective and guidance necessary to deliver for our school children.  Along with his work on the BOE, Jim has devoted 10 years of service on the Board of Directors for Old Saybrook Little League and served as Baseball and Softball Coach and Umpire.  Additionally, he has served Old Saybrook as a Commissioner for Parks & Recreation, ensuring sufficient facilities and spaces for all to enjoy.

 

Jim’s goals for the BOE are straightforward:  maintain a high standard of district academic excellence to ensure Old Saybrook's youth are provided with the best opportunities to succeed and provide the administration with the tools and skills necessary to make education fun and engaging for our students.
