zoning board of appeals
Laurie is seeking a permanent position on the Zoning Board of Appeals, where she has served as an alternate Member since March, 2024. A full-time resident of Old Saybrook since 2023, Laurie brings a unique blend of professional expertise and deep roots to her candidacy.
For the past five years, Laurie has worked in her family’s longstanding real estate construction and development businesses based in Old Saybrook. Her early ties to the town began as a child during summers spent here, eventually leading her family to relocate to Old Saybrook full-time. Laurie continued to live and work in town throughout college and law school before launching a successful legal career in Hartford, specializing in real estate law.
In addition to her professional experience, Laurie has a long history of community service.
She has held leadership roles on numerous preschool, elementary, and high school boards and committees in the community where she raised her children. She also served for more than 20 years as a gubernatorially
appointed public member of the State of Connecticut Criminal Justice Policy Advisory Commission and was Campaign Treasurer for then-Lieutenant Governor Jodi Rell. Laurie is deeply committed to the mission of the Zoning Board of Appeals and believes strongly in ensuring that all property owners have fair and impartial access to appeal processes and variance considerations.
Her combination of legal expertise, real estate knowledge and hands-on board experience makes her a strong and dedicated candidate for permanent membership on the Board.
